Come and join Peter and other like-minded gastronomes for a delicious evening on Friday 16th November 2012, all in aid of an excellent cause, in a delightful and historic venue in central Winchester.

The Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Frank Pearson, and his delightful wife Anne have kindly thrown open the doors of Abbey House for us in aid of the Magic Wand appeal.

This excellent cause is aiming to raise £1.6 million to redesign and refurbish the children’s unit in the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.

The unit currently treats kids from all over the county, from tiny premature babies to young adults with long-term problems.

If you’d like to know more, you can read the following pdf of the magic wand appeal leaflet. You can also find a recent newspaper report on the subject via this link.

We’re putting together a fun wine & food evening, with six delicious wines, including a glass of fizz to start, and some tasty morsels including cheese, hams and the odd sweet delight too. Peter will lead the evening in his own inimitable way, with tips and advice tailored to winter and Christmas drinking.

Tickets are £40 each or £70 per couple. We are limited to 40 people and places are selling fast, so please do get in touch to secure a place. Simply contact organiser Nikki Oliver (click on this link to auto-generate the email or call her on 01962 825377). Or send us an email by clicking here.

If you can’t make the event, you can donate to the charity via their JustGiving web page by clicking here. Or you can donate by texting WAND33 to 70070 to give up to £10 on your mobile. Or you can set up a standing order from your bank account or send a cheque to Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare Charitable Fund (The Magic Wand Appeal).
