Our desert island wines
So what would YOU go for if you had to choose three desert island wines?
It’s the question every true wine lover fears. Yet we gamely took it on in the name of entertainment…
So this isn’t so much a Writing feature (apologies). But we thought the content worth sharing.
It was an Instagram Live we did with The Wine Society. We were interviewed by their head buyer Pierre Mansour. For the record, we did cheat (we doubled up on the white and red – and also featured a wine that was in our glasses at the time – we’d argue this was more bending the rules than outright cheating…) Either way, these were the wines we featured:
- Tio Pepe Fino sherry (in our glasses)
- Blackbook Painter of Light Chardonnay, England (Susie)
- Chapel Down Kit’s Coty Chardonnay, England (Peter)
- Dry River Syrah, New Zealand (Susie)
- Casa Marin Syrah, Chile (Peter)
- Louis Roederer Champagne Brut NV (both)
You can watch the whole interview (probably best with a large glass of wine) via this link: Susie and Peter’s Desert Island Wines IG Live with The Wine Society.
You can, of course, also find this on The Wine Society’s Instagram IGTV archive.
The sound isn’t perfect (Insta, huh?) and is also a bit out of sync with the visuals. But you can get the gist. (You may also need to click on the ‘unmute’ button in the bottom of the main image.)
We also featured one ‘essential’ item to take with us. And this was? Drinking Buddies (see picture below). For the full explanation, you’ll have to watch the interview…
Cheers!
