Pete and I read this beautiful piece by Jeanette Winterson in Saturday’s Guardian. We both loved it and thought it well worth recommending.

It’s supposed to be all about the night (tying in with Halloween and the Guardian’s firmly secular ideals).

But it also happens to be one of the most resonant and evocative pieces on food and drink we’ve read for a while.
