After another hugely enjoyable spring season of wine classes, we are delighted to announce new tasting dates for Autumn/Winter 2011.
The tastings – detailed below – include the perennial favourite Back to Basics, together with a special Christmas-themed edition focusing on how to get the best out of your festive eating and drinking.
We’re also putting on, by popular demand, a Masterclass on Icons of the New World – so expect some top drops from the likes of Australia, New Zealand, Chile and South Africa, among others.
As ever, all knowledge levels are welcome to all classes. Our manner is an inclusive one – as you can tell from the testimonials we gratefully receive – and our prime aim is to help everyone enjoy wine without any of the snobbery or intimidation that often goes with this most delicious of subjects.
All our sessions start with a glass of fizz.
The Back to Basics kicks off with fun taste experiments to not only get your senses firing on all cylinders but also to give you the skills and insight to really get to grips with seven wines from around the world chosen to represent classic styles. The Masterclass has a similarly upbeat beginning before leading into a more focused tasting of top New World wines.
All courses run in the atmospheric Abbey Well room at the Winchester Hotel du Vin. The Hotel du Vin is generously offering all WWS tasters two-for-one on pre-tasting drinks and free puddings on three-course menus served on the evening. (Please ensure you check with the waiting staff before ordering.)
