Video from Chile

(by Peter Richards MW)

Here’s a video we filmed today on the breezy, beautiful hillsides of Itata in southern Chile. It’s about how the secret history of this forgotten region is being revived, and in the process changing the face of Chilean wine as we know it.

By way of subsequent comment – the wine made from the Corinto vines was delightful. It’s a brand new wine from De Martino and this was the first time anyone outside the winery had tried it. It’s a blend of Corinto with Moscatel also from this vineyard and is really serious stuff.

Thanks to Alvaro Arriagada for doing the filming. More photos & commentary to follow on a fascinating visit to a region that is shaping up to be a very important part of Chile’s wine future.
