Global Blanc de Blancs tasting 2019

This fascinating tasting, which featured in the September 2019 edition of Decanter, took the temperature of Blanc de blancs sparkling wines from around the world.

And would you believe it but top of the tree emerged…an English fizz!

The Wiston Estate Blanc de Blancs 2011 was just beautiful – stylish, creamy, refined and refreshing. A well deserved winner. 

Also rated Outstanding were the Castelnau 2005, Lelarge-Pugeot Extra Brut, Nicolas Feuillatte Collection 2012 and Recaredo Reserva Particular Corpinat 2007.

Highly Recommended wines came from Champagne, Oregon, Spain, Slovenia, Italy, England, South Africa, Burgundy, Alsace and Austria. Producers featured included AR Lenoble, Duval-Leroy, Argyle, Ferrari, Fox & Fox, Billecart-Salmon, De Morgenzon, Hattingley Valley, Langham, Ridgeview, Schloss Gobelsburg and Saronsberg.
