Dog Point Chardonnay 2017

Dog Point Chardonnay 2017, 13.5%, Marlborough, New Zealand

(£26, Berry Bros & Rudd)

Hello. We’re Susie and Peter. And we have a problem…

Our problem is that we LOVE good Chardonnay. (Note: good Chardonnay.) But all too often we can’t afford the best of the best (looking your way, white Burgundy. Fondly. But also forlornly.)

So what’s a Chardonnay lover to do?

Well, the answer is to look for Burgundy alternatives at a more accessible price. By ‘accessible’ we don’t mean under a tenner – really good Chardonnay is always going to cost a bit more than you’re comfortable spending.

But, when it’s good, it’s so worth it. (You’re worth it. We’re worth it. Keep saying this enough and you’ll get there…)

And this new vintage Dog Point release is just that. Worth every penny.

It’s packed full of toasted nut and fresh curry leaf complexity. It’s profoundly savoury but also full of juicy, revitalising freshness. Life-affirming stuff.

Problem solved.
