Fierce Beer Imperial Café Racer Porter
Fierce Beer Imperial Café Racer Porter, Scotland, 8.5%
(£3.49 per bottle, Fierce Beer)
We thoroughly enjoyed this great little brew on Saturday Kitchen alongside some delicious chocolate brownies.
It’s actually a coffee and vanilla porter – so a dark beer but with lots of richness to it. This kind of thing works really well with chocolate, which isn’t the easiest to pair with wine.
Fierce Beer is a micro-brewery based in Aberdeen. I love the way they poach ideas from the food world for their beers – using things like peanuts, cacao, garam masala, cumin and cayenne pepper.
For this one they collaborated with Devil’s Peak brewery in South Africa. They used Kenyan expresso and Bourbon vanilla. Unfortunately it looks like it’s sold out but you could try Fierce’s original Café Racer Porter.
