Busi-Jacobsohn Classic 2017
Busi-Jacobsohn Classic Cuvée Brut 2017, Eridge, England, 12%

Let’s be honest, some sparkling wine (including champagne) can be dull. Boring. It’s fine, it’s classic, it’s more or less what you expect but it just…doesn’t really thrill or excite you. Which is a shame, given the price tag often attached.
This fizz is the antidote to all that.
It’s brimming with character. Aromas include freshly baked bread and clotted cream, with fresh appley fruit. On the palate, it’s complex, coherent and moreish, perfectly balanced.
We loved its bold yet balanced style, with so much energy and personality.
‘Like a really good grower champagne,’ was Susie’s comment.
The estate is based in the High Weald of East Sussex and the wine is made at Ridgeview. The blend is 60% Chardonnay with 20% Pinot Noir and 20% Meunier.
